MORE ROOM THAN YOU EXPECT. GUARANTEED.*

“Wow! There’s so much space in here!” (or some similarly surprised comment) is something we almost always hear from folks sitting inside a MINI for the first time. See, what most don’t realize is that a few of our most important performance features – the engine turned sideways so it doesn’t poke into the cockpit and our kart-like, wheels-at-the-corners layout – are actually solutions we invented over 50 years ago for the sole purpose of creating more interior passenger room. Add in our “plant-on” roof and you’ll begin to understand why, MINIs, perhaps ironically, are often the car of choice for some of the biggest motorers.

*Claim only valid for people who have never actually sat in a MINI before. If you’ve already been in a MINI, then you know full well to expect a surprisingly spacious cabin.

GENEROUS CARGO SPACE

Looks sharp, sporty, and like it might have a tiny boot, right? Well, looks can be deceiving. Measuring at 7.9 cu ft, the Coupe actually has more interior cargo than the Mazda Rx8 (7.6 cu ft) and Nissan 370Z (6.9 cu ft).^ And the lockable pass through door opens things up so you can access the boot from the inside and load up with some of your more unwieldly items like skis or golf clubs. Not to mention, the open-wide tailgate lifts high enough to swallow an elephant. Okay, maybe a baby elephant. So if you like pachyderms, you’re all set. And if not, you can still move whatever awkwardly sized stuff you do like. Note: we do not recommend transporting elephants in your MINI – even with leather interior.

PLENTY OF ROOM FOR TWO.

John Cooper's brilliant engineering adjustments that made the 4-seat Hardtop so roomy – turning the engine sideways and pushing all four wheels out to the corners – give you and your co-pilot plenty of leg, elbow and headroom. And in a Coupe, instead of extra room for backseat drivers, you get a bootload of cargo space (a rare commodity in most two-seaters). Perfect for getaway weekends with a special co-pilot and your luggage.
