1.6L 16-VALVE ALUMINUM ENGINE

It's kind of hard to motor without, well... a motor. That's why we've spent so much time improving on an already classic design, creating an alloy engine with valvetronic actuation that helps reduce fuel consumption and enhance engine response at all speeds.

Impressively, all the added efficiency didn't come at the expense of power and performance. In fact, the new engine puts out more horsepower (118hp) with an ultra-smooth delivery. And it's still mounted transversely, for more cabin space and improved balance and handling. Although we can't claim exclusivity on this feature anymore. Nowadays, just about everyone copies the innovation we introduced over 40 years ago.
