Plus, ALL4 all-wheel drive comes standard, so you can turn all those unexpected turns into an artform rarely seen outside the racetrack.
Our new 4-cylinder engine with MINI TwinPower Turbo technology and 301 hp. with 331 ft.-lbs. of torque is a feat of engineering, not to mention a force to be reckoned with. The considerably increased output is due to a bigger turbocharger, a smaller compression ratio to match the increased system charging pressure, and spontaneous power delivery that’s supported by the latest technology in direct fuel injection.
An optimal running temperature for the engine is guaranteed at all times, while speed bursts are accompanied by the striking sound of our new sport exhaust system. While extreme engine output makes itself known through intimidating growls, more relaxed driving remains reserved while richly in tune with the fast lane.
The best traction, agility, and driving stability now comes standard, thanks to AWD that has been comprehensively redeveloped for the new edition. The ALL4 system is interconnected with the DSC Dynamic Stability Control and constantly calculates the ideal power distribution between the front and rear wheels. If the DSC controller detects a danger of slip, within a fraction of a second the clutch will transfer drive torque to the rear wheels to maintain stability.
Our completely redesigned sport brake system can withstand deeply intensive use thanks to optimized engineering and coolant ducts that achieve high stability. Plus, readjusted suspension and damping systems, DSC Dynamic Stability Control and electromechanical steering are precisely oriented towards extremely agile driving. This baby was born to run.
